There are a number of outdoor sports that have been adapted to also be played as indoor sports and have enjoyed a huge following. The advent of these indoor versions of the game means that players are able to enjoy their sport during the off season when weather conditions aren’t as favourable. In order to replicate the playing conditions that would be experienced if the games were played outdoors, indoor synthetic grass surfaces are used.

There is a significant difference in the synthetic grass used indoors to the outdoor artificial turf or landscaping synthetic grasses. For a start the indoor synthetic grass does not aim to replicate the look of real grass which is one of the aims of landscaping synthetic grass. Indoor synthetic grass looks and feels more like carpet with the aim to provide a surface where footing is guaranteed and balls run smoothly and consistently.

Sports that are commonly played as indoor as well as outdoor sports include soccer and cricket. In both of these cases the synthetic grass surface has been wholeheartedly accepted by all players as the perfect surface on which to play these sports. The surface is fast and it allows for free movement by the players with little risk of injury that would relate directly to the playing field.

Because synthetic grass that is laid indoors doesn’t have to contend with the problem of how to last through outdoor temperatures or from the constant cleaning required due to debris being blown onto the surface, it is more comparable to a carpet. The cleaning required is very much the same as the cleaning that you would do with the carpet in the home. An occasional brush of the grass fibres is also required to keep them fresh and the surface acting as expected during play. The only aspect that must be monitored is the wear that the surface is suffering after being laid and play has taken place over a number of years.
